Inspiration Information is a beautifully judged meeting of worlds. Mulatu Astatke brings the hypnotic rhythmic logic and melodic language of Ethio-jazz, while The Heliocentrics give the record a deep, smoky, slightly psychedelic backing that never feels overbearing or merely retro.
