The 27-year-old is the son of the late John Prine, one of the most famous songwriters in music history. Tommy, who grew up in Nashville, started writing his own songs at the age of 17, but mostly kept them to himself. After the death of his father in April 2020, his desire for creativity blossomed. "It was the healthiest and most intense way for me to process all those feelings [of grief]," he says. "I just fell head over heels in love with the idea of being a songwriter and singer.
